Q.Draw the projection of a line 60 mm in length which is making the angles of 35° to V.Pand 55° to H.P and touching both the planes.

Q.Draw the projection of a line 60 mm in length which is making the angles of 35° to V.Pand 55° to H.P and touching both the planes.

SOLUTION:

(1) From any point on x-y line draw the initial top view a b, considering the line is initially 55° to H.P and parallel to V.P (Here the true length of 60 mm can be

observed as is assumed that the line is touching VIP completely).

(il) Note that a’b’ is FV and o-b is T*V_{1} (Fig. (a)).

(iii) From any convenient point a_{1} draw a_{1} – b_{1} to the true length (60 mm) at 35° to x-y line considering the line is touching completely the H.P.

(iv) Note that of-bi and a_{1} – b_{1} are F*V_{2} and T*V_{2} respectively

(vil) Consider any point on x-y (Fig. 11.19 (c)) and a_{1} – b_{1} as radius cut traces t₁- 11 and from the same point, a b (T*V_{1}) as radius, cut the locus t_{2} – t_{2} and join the points of intersections to the x-y line i.e., b_{2} to a_{2} and 02 to b_{2} Name them as final FV and T.V respectively.

Note: As the sum of the angles between the VP, HP and the line is 90°, the final FV and TV lies on the same line as shown in Fig.  (a). In this case the projections can also be drawn by drawing the side view by trial and error method as in Fig.  (d).
