SOLUTION:

Total load= 5 + 5 + 3 × 2 = 16KN

SFD ( SHEAR FORCE DIAGRAM)
F{A} = 16kN (same in AC)
F{C} = 16kN (just left of C)
F{C} = 11kN (just right of C) same in CD)
F{D} = 11kN
F{E} = 8kN
F{B} = 0
Max SF occurs at A = 16kN (same in AC)

BMD ( BENDING MOMENT DIAGRAM)

M{B} = 0
M{E} = – (3 × 1) 1/2 = – 1.5kNm
M{D} = – (3 × 2) 2/2 ( – 5 × 1) = – 11kNm
M{C} = (3 × 2)(2/2 + 1) – 5 × 2 = – 22kNm
M{A} = – 5 × 2 – 5 × 4 – (3 × 2)(2/2 + 3)
= – 10 – 20 – 24 = – 54kNm

Max B.M occurs at A=M max =-54 kNm
