True length of the chain, L=20m

Error in chain , e=15cm = 0.15m too short

incorrect length of the chain ,

L’ = L –  e = 20 – 0.15 = 19.85m

measured length = ML=600m.

Therefore True length of the line

TL =( L’/ L ) x ML

= (19.85/20) x 600

= 595.5 m

True length of the line =595.5m
