Q.Draw the projection of a regular hexagon of 50 mm side, having one of ite sides in the H.P. and inclined at 60° to the V.P. and its a surface making an angle of 45° to the H.P.
SOLUTION
Construction: Steps to be followed:
1. Draw the xy line.
2. Draw the top view abcdef such that the one of the hexagonal lamina sides are in H.P..
3. Then a’b’c’d’e’f’, on the xy line is the corresponding elevation of the hexagonal lamina for the first stage.
4. Redraw the elevation such that a’ f’ is on the xy line and make an angle at 45° with the xy line. This gives the elevation for second stage (II).
5. Taking vertical projectors through a’f’; b’e’; c’ď in second stage and horizontal projectors through e, df, ac, b in the first stage join these two projectors systematically, through corresponding points of intersection.
6. Redraw the second stage plane a₁, b₁, c₁, d₁, e1, fi such that one of its side 01 f1 makes an angle of 60° to the x y plane. This gives the elevation for third stages.
7. Then taking vertical projectors through the third stage plane a1, b1, C1, di, e. fi
and horizontal projectors a’f’; b’e’; c’d’ through the second stage elevation and
plot their corresponding intersection points.
These points when joined in a systematic order gives the final elevation bici di eff of the square lamina
