SOLUTION:
To find reactions :
Total load = 30 + 20 + 30 + 20 = 100 kN
Taking moments about A
RB × 6 = 30 × 1 + 20 × 2 + 30 × 3 + 20 × 4
= 30 + 40 + 90 + 80 = 240
RB = 240/6 = 40kN
RA = Total load – RB = 100 – 40 = 60kN
(or)
Taking moments about B
RA × 6 = 20 × 2 + 30 × 3 + 20 × 4 + 30 × 5
= 40 + 90 + 80 + 150 = 360kN
RA = 360/6 = 60kN
